The mythological legends gathered in Feathered Serpent, Heart of the Sky trace the history of the world from its beginnings in the dreams of the dual god, Ometeotl, until the arrival of the Spanish conquerors in Mexico and the fall of the great city Tenochtitlán. In the course of this story we will learn about the Hero Twins, the Feathered Serpent and the Heart of Heaven, and how they built the world on the back of a leviathan; of the nahualli that changes shape; and of the aluxes, those beings in the shape of elves known to help the vagabonds. And finally, we will find Aztec tales about the arrival of bearded foreigners from the other side of the sea, who seek to annihilate the government of Montezuma and destroy the stories we are reading.
